Yo, The in-laws came over today so I decided to make a raisin, pear, apple and banana crumble. It’s like a pie but with an oatmealy, sugary crust. Dat s%&t was pretty damn good. Never made it before but I threw some things together and did it. The in-laws came over to watch my two boys while me and da-wifey went to see the new James Bond flick, Skyfall. The opening action sequence was unexpected and badazz…anyway, when we returned home I took a bite of the crumble and lost my mind at how good it was. The flavor crank was the raisins and the bananas….it added a nice touch. Simple to make and easy to eat…I added a vanilla cream to the crumble. You can also add a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream to set it off. Enjoy!
Raisin, Apple, Pear and Banana crumble
2 bosch pears pealed, cored and cut into bite sized pieces
2 granny smith apples pealed, cored and cut into bite sized pieces
2 bananas sliced
1/2 cup of raisins
1/2 lemon (juice only)
1 cup of brown sugar
3/4 cup of a.p. flour
3/4 cup of oatmeal
1/2 cup of melted butter
1.5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl combine fruit and lemon juice to keep fruit from oxidizing (turning brown). Add 1/3 cup of brown sugar, raisins, 1 tsp of cinnamon and mix well with your hands or stir with a spoon. Place mixture in a buttered (or spray with pam) casserole dish. In another bowl add melted butter, flour, oatmeal, the remainder of the brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and mix together well. The mixture should be a smooth crumble. Pour mixture evenly over top of fruit. Place in oven and allow to bake for about thirty minutes. Done. Remove from oven and allow to cool for about ten minutes. To serve, spoon fruit crumble into a bowl and add a nice large scoop of ice cream. fast and easy, Enjoy!
